i have 13/4 lb harrison rod which i use for carp fishing and for fishing in ther winter periods i was just wondering is it worth investing in some 11/2 lb rods

Personally I wouldn't bother, as long as your Harrison has an action that suits you.
I used to use 1.25lb tc rods but about 5 seasons ago built some 1.75lb Harrison GTi's. I like these very much and find them suitable for winter and summer, on small and big rivers that I fish. paul4 |

Hi All
I use 12ft 1.75tc when static fishing but when roving an 11ft 1.6tc rod with a pair of slides for the real seat and single leg fuji eyes, I find this great in the summer and its amazing what weight difference the extra foot and real seat offers. I think 1.75tc are the perfect all year round static rods, I would struggle to roll meat all day with one, but then its nothing you couldnt get used to, As always Mark its personal choice, Regards Jez |
