Posts: 70 21/11/1943 19:03:51	Tags : None Ok Guys I am writing this here because i am running out of ideas I have fished lower benyons 17 times this season and so far have had not one barbel. Plenty of pike,and trout. I have tried everything that normally catches on upperB Royalty Loddon and other strecthes any advice would be great. I have only heard of one barb coming out to a chap who fish it evry day for 3 hours a day is it that hard here or am i missing something? Any help guys would be great!!! Tight Lines Wozza

Posts: 5292 21/11/1945 20:03:52 Board Owner	Graham E. was often spotted with clients early season along the stretch and did very well. Pete W ( RePete) and myself did well there up until November and moved further upstream when the results got worse. The last hour of the day always seemed the best time and I suppose you can put that down to angling pressure. Certain swims always seemed to produce at some time of the day on varied kinds of baits. There was a rumour of pollution a couple of months back slightly downstream from the Lower Benyons. Perhaps we could meet up with you before the season ends and show you our "hotspots". Micky

Posts: 70 21/02/2008 00:58:18	Cheers guys I only started fishing it since november but have hardly seen many anglers at all so the venu cant be down to pressure also have fished in good conditions thought i had a great chance when the floods came. i have moved from swim to swim on some days and on some dayz stayed put The main swims i have been targeting is the weir, and the fallen tress and the swim with the big deep slack right in the middle of two trees if you know the one i mean, also the bridge swim and the to swims further down esp the big tree very fast water there. Would appreciate meeting up or any options cause this has me baffled...... $:\$ Regards Wozza

Posts: 1329 21/02/2008 23:50:49 Moderator	Wozza, I don't think it applies just to Lower Benyons. My two regular venues on the Kennet have also been slow to produce since November. In fact one of them, which I know reasonably well, gave me 15 blanks through mid Nov. through to late Feb. I've only just started picking up a few in the last few weeks. Looking back through my records, it's the worst winter I've ever had. Perhaps it's good to be bought down to earth now and again, well, that's what I keep telling myself. Some of those blank visits the conditions where 'text book', just right. I wish I knew the answer.-----Best wishes,-----John.
