Several night anglers are now using the red headtorches.They seem to be more user friendly.

Hi Micky,
I've been using the Energiser 3 led head torch for a couple of seasons now it has two white led's and a single red. You can angle the light.comfortable to wear and the batteries seem to last a hell of a lot longer than some of the specialist fishing head torches I've owned in the past.The red light helps to preserve your night vision better than when using the white all the time and you have a very bright white light if you need it. I know Pete has got onto them this season. The best bit is they cost 7-9 so you can have a back up and still be quids in.You can pick them up from Argos there is a full review in this months CAT. I have had a few torches including those from Nash,Chub and Petzel but these are by far the best for quality and value for money. |

I bought a couple of the Energiser head torches in October on Paul4's recommendation. Wilkinsons were selling them for 7 - the same ones that are 9.99 in Argos - I agree with the comments that John makes about them..........my 30 Petzl tikka is pretty much redundant now. Pete |

Quote: Micky It sold for 5.50 + p&p. Probably better off getting one from Argos, at least you can take it back should it pack up. Pete |

Quote: Seems like they've put the price up from 7. Must have been a big demand last month and they've realised there's profit to be made from head torches. Pete |

Hi Mick
Not been fishing as much as I'd like to and time's running out fast....only 17 days left. I bought my headlight from the Wilkinsons in Basingstoke (It's located at the top end of the old shopping centre) Pete |

Argos sell two versions, one for about 10, the other about 15. I have the 15version and think its fantastic:

Re: Red headlight wanted. | #17 | ||

Mick,
The 15 argos version i listed comes with batteries and the white LED light on it is fantastic for walking back to the car after a late fishing session. Whilst the red light is good for fishing at the bankside, don't forget that you need to be able to pack up safely and walk back safely, so get a headtorch with a bright white light too. Paul |

Hi Pete , I used my new headlight last night for the first time and found the red light great for bait changing/fiddley hair stops etc. and the white light great for missing the cowpats on the way back to my car.
Cheers again. Micky . |
